Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to in the media as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. It was her parents after the town in which they were born. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father is from a Jewish family. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. The time Ryder was just seven, her family moved to Mendocino County California. They didn't even have electricity. The books on television were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she began to read extensively. At the age of 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take classes in acting. In 1986, she was offered her first big-screen role in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Ryder hoped her career in acting would improve this. But, unfortunately, that didn't come to pass. However, she continued to pursue the goals she had set for herself. Her first big break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in numerous films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated at the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
